{this post was actually written for thursday night. instead of turning on my computer, fixing up my photos, and actually pushing publish, i curled up with a book, and went to bed at 10:00 PM. ;-) i’m keeping the post just as it was, though.}
last night i did some thinking about how i’ve been doing. EP was also over. everything has been a little stressful recently, a little strained, and less-than-perfectly-happy. but i’m talking about myself here, not he + me.
i think i made a good decision for myself and my overall well being. he was very sweet while i was thinking out loud and rehashing and trying not to go too crazy.
last night was also ellio’s night. yes. at one point, i vaguely remember calling this a healthy living blog. :p the night was really just amazing. through struggles, and worry, and overall ick, my favorite times are laughing on the couch together and doing nothing at all. we baked off some ellio’s pizza, with pineapple chunks and a little mozzarella, made delicious salads with some organic spring mix he picked all by himself. we watched boy meets world, and drank little blueberry mojitos.
and tonight, i accompanied melissa to heritage station winery, about ten minutes from my apartment. there was an event with music, $2 off first glasses, and 10% off bottles of wine. two winery visits in a week? yeah, i’ll take it.
the music was good, and the sweet glass of “jersey white” i sipped on was syrupy and incredible.
let’s not get into the “personal”-sized wheel of brie, baked with walnuts and something i can’t remember. cheese for dinner: check.
apparently the winery has these happy hours every thursday from 6:00-9:00. i know i’ll be heading back once the weather cools off a bit.
as it were, last night we got scared out around 8:15. the skies completely opened up. it turned threatening and dark within 4 minutes, and melissa and i each bought a bottle of wine and fled to the car. everyone else just meandered up to the tent and looked like they were going to wait it out.
it was a crazy thunderstorm, so i hope they eventually got less brave. i got home safe and sound, and until that, it was a nice, relaxing night after stressing myself out all week. i love being outside in the summertime; i don’t know why i can’t figure out how to do it more often.

I personally think cheese is very healthy. My definition of healthy might differ from others. I think whole unprocessed foods make up a healthy diet. Bread & cheese fall into that category. Highly processed foods with unnatural additives no matter how low calorie are not something I would eat.
when i saw your comment come in, i definitely thought you were talking about the ellio’s. hahaha.
yes, i definitely agree with your “healthy.” i think i was just joking about the amount this time.
Glad you were able to relax and de-stress over so yummy pizza, and wine. Hope you are having a fabulous weekend girl!
it was a great summer weekend! hanging out with my parents, an awesome walk in a park, and some time with EP. i’m all about relaxation right now.
Cheese for dinner? Works for me!!
