week one was a fresh start — not much changed or restarted, though.

i didn’t think i’d have enough photos. and then i did. and i realize i didn’t use many extras or really any journaling. but that’s what makes me most uncomfortable about the whole thing — the words. the photos don’t put me all out on the line. i did include a little bit, and my new year’s resolutions.

we rang in the new year at my brother steve’s house and played this game called hedbandz. EP and i got chinese food at a place i’ve never taken him. it smelled like a pet store, but the tofu in garlic sauce was delicious.

we sold my baby — the 1992 honda accord. not as heartbreaking as it could have been, with my brand new 2013 hyundai sonata limited. :-) i included too many self portraits, but I straightened my hair myself  for the first time!

EP and i went to his mama’s for dinner on saturday. it was more relaxed than i thought it would be. and we had delicious moonshine — it tastes, no lie, like apple pie. sunday we had a delicious diner breakfast, walked around for a little while. we had a big chat in the afternoon. but we followed it up snuggling on the couch with his puppy and starting season two of madmen.

thoughtsi’m so excited to have started the project! i think i’m referring to it as “the binder” in real life conversations. it’s too much to explain the scrapbook/no scrapbook thing sometimes. it wasn’t as hard as i thought it would be. and the weekly monday night trip to target to pick up photos might be my new favorite thing.

so far, i am loving it. i’d like to include a little more journaling next week. i love the
limitations to the layout. i think it will keep me from feeling overwhelmed. :-) no more exclamation points unless i’m quoting and something was actually exclaimed. and it was tougher than i thought to take photos of the actual binder. i’ll work on that.

I forgot I like my handwriting so much better without cursive. and I considered planning to reprint and redo the ones that aren’t perfect or that I changed my mind about. and then I decided it will be good for me to leave a few imperfections right there on the first pages. like the first scratch on a new car. it’s not perfect anymore. it’s time to just jump in and enjoy it.

about project life 2013 | project life was created by becky higgins. i was inspired by elise, and ali edwards. it’s more about documenting the everyday than it is scrapbooking, cutting + pasting. it’s sort of between private journaling + public blogging. different from photo albums [which i'll still keep]. this is a snapshot of my whole year through daily life. click here for my introduction post.
