i was cocky.
oh. the flu is going around? it’s a really bad year for it?
psh. not me.
oh hello, flu.
and then it was 7 days later.
last tuesday, i felt so out of it at work. couldn’t put my finger on it. it was a fever.
that lasted all through wednesday. aches and chills and super light-headed.
i holed up in my parents’ living room with a blanket and ice packs surrounding my head. it honestly didn’t last long. i was excited for the “severe cold” symptoms after that. then it was a couple of days of stuffiness and coughing. friday i left work early. i slept in an upright ball on the couch draped over a pillow, because i coughed when i laid down. by the weekend i had gotten my parents sick [sorry, mom and dad. i love you]. and i was still pretty weak through monday.
today i’m feeling ready for bed, but almost like myself. i slept through the night last night.
whine whine whine, thankfully i’m almost in the clear. so i digress. allow me to recap the decent parts of the week. :-)
coffee with EP and entourage on dvd. my favorite sunday mornings.
i hit 500 miles in the new car!
it was on the way to a pretty cute dinner last night with EP. we went to brio — it was delicious and italian. i accidentally found a location closer to where we were, and nicer for parking and crowdedness.
i’m still liking the 2013 binder. i’m taking a break from sharing this week, and i’ll try to post a week after each spread, instead of hurrying through it and posting the next day. i didn’t know if i would have enough photos, so i’m thinking about a coffee-a-day photo. sounds lame, right? i love it. coffee is usually a given for my mornings [except during the flu], and one of my resolutions was to enjoy every one — at least i like the concept, instead of absently going through my favorite routine. i got the idea from elise’s mile-a-day photos one week.
and i downloaded the afterglow app after seeing it in her project life photos, too. i’m such a little copycat. but i’m digging it right now. [i love every blog and binder with light, retro, almost washed out photos, but i have such a hard time actually doing that to my own photos! i'm working on it. it helps my perfectionism.]
i’ve been reading graceling on my breaks at work, and i’m hooked. me + young adult novels with a great little heroine and a dystopian society? i’m surprised, too. ;-) also, i accidentally read for 2 hours straight after work tonight, forgot to eat or drink anything, and wound up with a tummy ache. it’s been rectified. but that’s slightly insane.
and to bed i go! hoping to get healthy for at least a little while.

So glad you’re starting to feel better! I love your elephant mug. I like the idea of coffee-a-day. Why not? It’s part of your life. Graceling sounds good…may I request it from the KLL?? Talkt to you soon!!
coffee-a-day is over, and i did it for the whole week! it really is one of the only constants every day for me. : )
graceling is amazing again. i put it down in the middle because it made me sad. but i’m hooked again. and i’ll certainly lend it out.
Ugh, my son was sick last week and only went to 2 days of school. This was after being out of school for 2 weeks for Christmas break!
: ( sorry to hear! i hope he’s feeling better. it took me a long time to stop being exhausted all the time.
